Book Review: Marketing Strategies with the Help of Robin Hutton

Image
I met  Robin Hutton  on Twitter. Immediately he messaged me a link to his  webpage . I went ahead and downloaded his book "17 Self-Publishing Bullets for Writers". I have found that Twitter is filled with authors who want to be known and want to help other authors. I hope I can be that author one day.  Right now, I am reading Tim Hutton's book.  It will take me some time to go through it all, but so far, he has outlined my author life perfectly. Like many, it took a lot of courage on my part to publish my book. It took me 18 years to gather that courage. Then, I became one of the many in an ocean of writers trying to get people to invest in my books.  I have abandoned the dream of making any money with my writing. Right now, I just want people to get to know my books because I, myself, think they are great. I highly recommend you follow Mr. Hutton and download his book. If you are like me, you'll need all the help you can get. cheers!

Art: I Made a Dog Man T-Shirt for my Son!

Image
Hello, all! Today I want to share my adventures into t-shirt making. I was checking my son's closet the other day and I found a plain black t-shirt we had bought for him for one of his school's music sharing perfomances last year. It still fits and I couldn't see much use to having it hanging forever, so I decided to transform it into something useful. My son has recently found a love for reading. He has really grown in his reading skills this past year (he's in first grade) and his favorite author of all time is Dav Pilkey (really famous author of Captain Underpants. In case you aren't familiar with him, the Captain Underpants movie is coming out June 2nd). When the Fall Book Fair came to his school, he got Dav Pilkey's latest book: Dog Man! Then, he used his own hard-earned money to buy Dog Man 2. He loves it! He carries the book wherever he goes, which is why I thought making him a Dog Man t-shirt would be the best thing to do. And so I did....

Art: Misty Copeland - My Inspiration

Image
I like to draw. I don't draw that often. I have a DeviantArt account, in case you want to look around. A few days ago I saw the newest promo for the American Ballet Theater (ABT): It inspired me. So, I decided to draw it: I was pretty pleased with my drawing; the next step was to color it. I own ArtStudio for the iPad, if you have ever thought of buying an art app, I recommend ArtStudio by Lucky Clan. It's amazing, pretty inexpensive and comparable to Photoshop. Perhaps my only complaint is the number of layers it has available, but you learn to be flexible with what you have. Basically I colored with a pencil and a brush. I used my amazon stylus, too. Seriously, best stylus you'll ever find for $8: Finally, I ended up with a final product that I published on DeviantArt: Misty in Blue I also ordered my own print online. I think it's amazing what you can do with technology these days. I ordered a 12x18 print which I will fr...

Video Game Review: Zelda Breath of the Wild - Blood Moons

Image
The Blood Moon in Breath of the Wilde is that happy time when all the monsters respawn in the amazing Zelda open world. I remember the first time I experienced a Blood Moon. First, I was disappointed. It had not only taken me a while to kill the monsters after I finally left the Great Plateau, but they had taken my weapons with them. Just thinking about all those wonderful swords that - at least in the beginning - were hard to find, made me hate those Blood Moons. This all changed. After a few hours of playing (about 125hr), I realized Blood Moons are the best thing in the world! Why can't we have them every single night!? See, I need  monsters back to keep harvesting their parts. Especially the Hinox (with my favorites in the Zora Realm and outside of the Rito Village) and the Lynel (my favorites being the one in the Zora Domain and the one in the coliseum). I want those Blood Moons. I really do. Another item that requires Blood moon to easily harvest is the Ice Kee...
