Graphic Novel Review: Chew

Image
I picked up this graphic novel at my local library one day because all of the volumes were on the rack and it looked interesting. Chew is a graphic novel for adults and it's about a cop, Tony Chew, who has the ability to read thought, events or feelings after tasting anything (Cibopathic). As you can guess there is a lot of blood, human flesh and other gross stuff that he eats throughout the story. Another interesting thing about this world is that eating chicken is illegal.  I gave volume one a chance and, even when I will continue to volume 2, I'm not sure I will read all of it yet. The graphic novel basically introduced a character in each chapter and it felt like all of these characters had one mystery that we won't find out until much later. I know this is a technique to keep you interested, but too many secrets at the same time can drive me crazy (I'm not all people, though). I wouldn't say this was a great graphic novel, but I will give vo...

Comics Review: Fowl Language Comics

Image
I discovered Fowl Language comics because one of my friends from college kept posting it on her Facebook page. Each time I would read them and laugh out loud because mostly everything that it's represented by these adorable ducks... is real . Parenting is not easy. You survive a lot  of things through the years, and every time I look at these comic strips from Brian Gordon.  Seriously, I found some so funny - and at times, at the perfect time - that I began to show them to my husband. That day he read through all of the archive. If you haven't already, visit the Fowl Language Comics website. I'm quite certain you'll have a lot of fun. If you think about it, his published books could make for a perfect gift for someone who's struggling with the daily life of parenthood. cheers!

Video Game Review: Zelda, Breath of the Wild: A Different Way to Enjoy the Game

Image
I finished Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It was amazing. When I decided to go against Ganon I had completed about 95% of the side quests, all shrines, about 100 seeds and I could never find the Hylian shield. In no way had I visited every single square inch of the map, but I felt I had done a good job. I played for 160 hours. Then I decided to start the game over. This time, I wanted to go where I hadn't been before. That meant getting all the seed and finding all the treasures I had missed. For my second run, I decided to use the online map. So, after completing the four shrines in the Great Plateau, I decided I was going to try to get all the seeds and treasures that have been found so far by players and posted on the interactive map . Since I only had the Great Plateau area open in the map, it was easy to only focus on those seed and chests. It is taking me longer - considering I already know where to go, thanks to the map - but I have been enjoying it a lot and that...

Video Game Review: My 20 Favorite Things About Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Image
I recently read an article about the best things about Breath of the Wild and since I have just finished playing it (yay me! I beat Ganon!) I thought it was a good idea to list the things I  loved about the experience of playing the game. 1. You can climb anything ! 2. You can have a lot of hearts! 3. The stamina wheel lasts longer than the one on Skyward Sword, which makes it less annoying. 4. The paraglider 5. Activating shrines and towers 6. Eventide Island 7. Finding ingredients ALL the time (although not always what you want, but enough to keep you alive). 8. Mipha's Grace and Urbosa's Fury 9. The Master Sword 10. Tarrey Town 11. Getting my OWN house! 12. The Dark Link armor - and the fact everyone acts scared of it. 13. Magnesis, Bombs, Stasis and Cryonis... best runes EVER! 14. Link can jump! 15. Everything that should catch on fire, does! 16. Teleporting 17. The fact that you can freeze to death or be burned alive 18. The Blood Moon, b...
