Video Game Review: Breath of the Wild DLC 2

Image
I bought the DLC package back in November, so I didn't need to wait long for the second part to be released... and thank goodness. I didn't think Part 1 was great at all, especially with that very hard Trial of the Sword. I was a little disappointed. But, wow, did part 2 came through. It is AMAZING! The main thing in DLC Part 2 is the Champions' Ballad, which is an amazing side quest that will reward you with Link's motorcycle.  The quest was so much fun. You begin in the Shrine of Resurrection, where you get a very interesting weapon that lets you kill enemies with one hit, but which lets you dies with just one hit. Basically, once you touch the weapon (looks like a trident of sorts) all of your hearts go down to 1/2 heart and no matter how much you eat, your HP will remain in 1/2 heart. You first need to clear the area of monsters in four spots in the Great Pleateau using this weapon. Once you finish killing all monsters a new Shrine will pop out of t...

Graphic Novel Review: Sweet Tooth Vol. 4 - Endangered Species

Image
I am still obsessed with this graphic novel about the post-apocalyptic future where most everyone dies of a sickness and kids are born like animal/human hybrids. I checked part 4 and 5 out from the library a few weeks ago and could wait to finish the book I was reading to continue with this saga and I have to say, it did not disappoint. Sweet Tooth, the main character and a boy hybrid with antlers is now traveling with his party to the North: Alaska. The journey can't be easy for them, of course. They still have to defend themselves from the wild and dangerous new world left by the sickness. On the way, they find a bunker that appears to be heaven, although not everybody believes the man inside is to be trusted. Something totally unexpected happens at the end and now I can't wait to pick up the next volume to find out what's going to happen next! This is a great series with great writing; I can't stop reading it and I don't really like post-apocalyptic/depre...

Book Review: Mistborn

Image
My husband recommended I read this book, Mistborn: The Final Empire. He was really adamant about it. I was forced to break my book reading sequence because he just wouldn't stop urging me to read it. And so, I did. What a nice surprise of a book! There is magic and action and excellent character development. And more! There are twists that you just can't foresee and a very well planned plot that works until the end. Even when it did get a little slow at times, those times weren't many. The use of magic, called Allomancy because it has to do with metals, is very well thought out and used very creatively. I loved it. If you are reading a book this year, let it be Mistborn. Excellent! cheers!

Video Game Review: Breath of the Wild DLC1

I waited until November to purchase the Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC and I gotta say, I was a little disappointed for what I got for $20. Back in November, only part 1 had been released and I wasn't too happy with what was in it. The following was included in the DLC Part 1: -Trial of the Sword -Hero's Path Mode -Master Mode -Travel Medallion -Armor, armor, amor Armor, Armor, Armor In my opinion all of the armor is pretty useless. The Korok Mask, basically the most useful piece of armor in the DLC. It basically works as a beacon for korok leaves, vibrating whenever you are close. Honestly, I don't feel like walking around with my mask looking for korok leaves. The rest of the armor includes Midna's helmet, Tingle's outfit and the Phantom armor. All you gotta do to find them if go to the stable where they tell you to go, read the diary and follow the clues. Once you get to that area you use magnesis to find chests containing each item trapped somewh...
