Videogame Review: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Keeping Track of Abilities)

Image
A lot has happened since my last review. I can say, for one, that I am enjoying the game more. I still don't think the time they use for cut-scenes is appropriate. Too long if the ask me. Eventually the story began to interest me, but the length of the video cut-scenes just drives me crazy, so I have not paid attention to some of it. Apart from that, I have since discovered some wonderful things about the game I hadn't paid attention to before and thus, had enraged me. Abilities : Each blade has special abilities that enable you to open chests, doors, jump, etc... to reach new places. In the beginning of the game, in the first world, you encounter the first chest (in the shape of a barrel) that you can't open because it requires a level of abilities you do not posses. I believed I would eventually acquire these abilities and would eventually come back to these chests and goodies (since they mark them on the map after you encounter them) and be a happy player. ...

Book Review: A Wrinkle in Time

Image
My husband read A Wrinkle in Time a while ago. We have had it in our library since I can remember. I had wanted to read it, but I always put other books before this one. When we moved to our new house three years ago, he was about to sell it to Half Price Books, but I asked he didn't because I've been meaning to read it. Time passed and it wasn't until the first trailers of the movie came out that I realized I was running out of time. I hate watching the movie first! Besides, the movie looked bright and colorful and action packed. I like all of those things.  I started reading the book the first of January. I didn't want another day to pass. It took me two weeks to read it. I liked it. It was interesting, although some things didn't make a lot of sense to me and then the ending was just so... blah. I still enjoyed it, but not enough to give it 5 stars, unfortunately. I will still go watch the movie, I'm looking forward to it. I know there are...

Videogame Review: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (at 40 hours of Gameplay)

Image
I bought Xenoblade Chronicles 2 after I played Zelda: Breath of the Wild twice after completing everything in the game, including the DLC's. I truly wanted a PS4, but since my husband has one and promised to give it to me when he bought the new Play Station, I decided to wait. He, instead, got an X-Box and now I have to wait a while until the new Play Station comes home. While I wait, I bought Xenoblade. After having played it for about 40 hours, these are my thoughts. What I like Xenoblade is an RPG and it plays very similiar to a Final Fantasy ( a popular RPG from which I have played I, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII and X). Characters - You can have up to three characters in your party at a time and you have to build them up by fighting monsters and getting a variety of experience points. Some experience points help with your level, some with your abilities and some with your arts (which are like limit breaks). You have what is called a "Blade" in this game, whi...

Graphic Novel Review: Sweet Tooth Vol. 5 - Unnatural Habitats

Image
This series hasn't stopped surprising me. It's just an amazing combination of art direction and story with interesting characters. The story just flows. In this volume the creative team takes what I would call a risk. For two issues they stop the main storyline to go back to an event back in the early 1900's where they narrate what could be the beginning of the mythology of what's actually going on. Today, as I was reading, I began to wonder if this series will have an end. I really wish it would, I would like to know the answers to all of this eventually. I hope they don't drag it out. For now, I am just enjoying the ride. This volume also featured two characters that turned out to be something other than what I thought they'd be. It was a little predictable, but I didn't care. It still kept me on the tip of my seat. I just couldn't stop reading to find out how it would all turn out in the end. Don't miss out. This one's worth it. ch...
