Book Review: Prodigy

Image
Prodigy is book two of the Legend series by Marie Lu. I began reading this series after a friend really recommended it. Book one was amazing. One of those you can't stop reading. Book two, while also very good and filled with unexpected turns, wasn't as exciting as one. Things turn darker, I suppose, especially at the end. This world is set in a dystopian future, where part of the east coast has sunk into the ocean and those states have been separated from the rest of the country, which is no longer the United States, but the Republic. The Republic is led by a dictator called the Elector, who keeps the Republic in control by lying to them and creating viruses to help control the lower sectors. In book one, June, one of the Republic's best officers, joins Day, the Republic's number one rebel, as she finds out the Republic is not what she thought it was. Not only that, they fall in love even when they barely know each other and are from totally different worlds....

Art: My New Ballerina

Image
My new ballerina is now available in DeviantArt. You can get it here . My process: Well, I first drew it by hand in a regular writing notebook. Then I took a picture of it with my iPad and uploaded it into my ArtStudio app. After that, I use several layers to color it and add shadow where I want. Finally, I look for a nice natural background, take a picture of it and add it after I add some effects. Since ArtSudio won't let me add another image into a layer, I email myself the file with a PSD (Photoshop) extension. I open it in Photoshop and then I can add the second image with the background. Sounds like fun? You should try it! cheers!

So, I promised it would be the next book I read. Immediately, I put it on hold from the library and picked it up four days later. I remember I had read about 20 pages of the book when I got a text from my friend asking me how Legend was doing. I had nothing to say about... not yet. The story was still forming and I had my doubts I would even like it at all. So, I told her I didn't really have an opinion on it... to wait. And then, it happened. It got better and better and better. And now I think it's amazing. It became one of those few books I can't stop reading. It became one of those few books I have t...
