An Overwhelmed Creative

What a great series! Winter is the fourth and last book from Marissa Meyer's Lunar Chronicles and I can tell you, it's a ride . The longest book by far, everything imaginable happens on this series finale. The villainous Lunar Queen has a lot on her hands, but at the same times, she manages to do some pretty horrible damage to our group of eight characters. Just as you thought they'd made it, something awful happened to them as they tried to right all the wrongs. I tried to predict the ending several times and failed. I loved the use of the fairy tales to accompany the action, and every time a connection to a fairy tale was used I wanted to turn around and tell someone, "Look, it's just like...". This is probably the best series I have read all year, and I usually don't like reading series because I don't have time to follow open-ended books, but this one was amazing and it had a clear ending, just the way I like it.  I was glad I chose to r...

Cress is the third book in Marissa Meyer's Lunar Chronicles . Although it did not disappoint, I think it was a little too long. That doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. On the contrary, I did. The story introduces Cress (who we actually met in the first book) and who resembles Rapunzel in the same way Cinder resembles Cinderella, and Scarlet, Little Red Riding Hood. Now, I'm going to talk a bit about books 1 and 2 as I explain my feelings for book 3, soooo... *SPOILERS AHEAD!* When we were introduced to Thorne in Scarlet , I knew she wasn't for Cinder... he was meant to be with Cress . In this book, we get a lot of Cress and Thorne as the author tries to sell how they belong to each other. I didn't buy it, unfortunately. Sure, it sounds great and it would make a perfect ending where each of them gets their man, but I just don't think they are meant to be together. Sorry.
