Book Review: Tress of the Emerald Sea
Tress of the Emerald Sea is the first of four books from Brandon Sanderson's Kickstarter. The book was released in January 2023, as promised, and it's been in my Kindle ever since. But now I've gotten to it and it just what I needed after struggling to read Stephen King's Fairy Tale. Without giving much away, the book is more of a fairy tale than Stephen King's book ever was. It was wholesome, filled with magic, and lots of spores. The story happens in another planet, one where the oceans aren't made up of water, but spores. Different kinds of spores for every ocean. Tress lives on an island surrounded by green spores, and as her adventure begins—fueled by love—she gets to interact with other spores. According to their color, the spores do different things when they are in contact with water, which makes it interesting, but a bit confusing, to be honest.
