Audio Book Review: Moon Dance (Vampire for Hire #1)
In my search for Urban Fantasy books that are like my own series, I think it's Vampire for Hire that most make me think of my Vampire Secret Agency books. So, I'll start by saying that if you enjoy J.R. Rain Vampire for Hire books, you will probably enjoy my books, too.
The series follows Samantha Moon, who six years ago was turned into a vampire. The book begins as she tries to continue her normal human life with her husband and family while adjusting to now being a vampire. Vampires in this universe are pretty much what original vampires are: the sun will kill them, they need to drink blood to survive, and they turn into bats.
What I most enjoyed about this first in the series was how the protagonist is still human. And like they keep telling him, some sort of superhero who can use her supernatural powers for good. I was hooked since the beginning, wanting to know more, and it kept getting better and better.
This is my kind of book. In my own series, vampires are the heroes. They are still feared and they can still be dangerous and even monstrous, but they are heroes. And most importantly, they still act and think like human beings. That's the kind of vampire I enjoy reading and writing about.
Cheers!
