Book Review: Jane, Unlimited

I got this book as a Christmas gift two years ago and I had delayed reading it for too long.

Eventually I got to it and . . . well, let's just say it wasn't my cup of tea.

It was well written, but I struggled to finish it because it never really had a point. Like the blurb said, it was all about different realities. So we got the main character (a girl named Jane),who likes to paint umbrellas (or make them and paint them), she gets invited to a big house on an island by a rich friend of her and there... she lives several lives at the same time.

The book never really explains what happens except they could have been five different books. None of them had a real ending, though, and that bothered me a little. The five realities start normal and then they become so fantastic I didn't know what the point of it all was.

In the end, I'm not sure what problem was solved or what happened to most of the characters. It's like they're just there.

And to top it all off, it's written in the present tense, which made for an awkward reading experience.

Over all, like I said . . . not my cup of tea.

Cheers!
