Audiobook Review: A Promised Land

An interesting biography of President Obama's life before his presidency and during this first term.

I enjoyed Michelle Obama's book, and I was excited for this one, as well. I was not disappointed.

Just like Becoming, A Promised Land is narrated by Obama himself. He tells of his life, his family, his presidency, and his struggles to try to help the American people the best way he knew how. 

It was long, but in the beginning of the book, Obama explains how he wanted to explain why and how his decisions came to be.

For the first blog post in this new videogame section, I thought to write about my love of the Zelda franchise, more than just about Breath of the Wild, which was the first game I wanted to talk about. I think that talking about how wonderful Zelda is through its top five games is the way to go. Besides, I will include Breath of the Wild on the list. Book Review: Verity

 What a rollercoaster of a book. I've heard about this book from several people. About Coleen Hoover in general and how great her books were. But whenever I read the descriptions of her books I was turned off by the themes. I don't like tragic stories mostly. And I heat reading about injustice. That's what I read the books were about. But my co-worker continued to insist and the book she said I should read about her was Verity. And so I eventually go to it. I must say that the book starts weird, with an event that apparently makes no sense, but a good hook. Then we meet the characters and everything looks fine. Until it isn't. There are horrible scenes about a person doing horrible things to her spouse and children. So much that I decided NOT to recommend the book to my teenage daughter (who reads about everything she can get her hands on).  I read on anyway, and the ending was completely worth it. Book Review: The Heir (The Selection #4)

I fell in love with America and Maxon after finishing The Selection trilogy that I was thirsty for more. When I first started The Selection I knew there were two additional books that sort of served as an epilogue, but I didn't think I would read them. That all changed after finishing the original trilogy and I didn't know what to do with my life (yes, I really, really enjoyed them). Now, after having finished The Heir, I wish I would have stopped at The Selection. It wasn't completely horrible, but it tore my dreams to shreds. Maxon and America are still there, but they are older and a little out of character sometimes, especially America. As for Maxon, he is always tired and trying to solve unsolvable problems.
