Book Review: Circe

What a wonderful book.

I wasn't sure what I was expecting about this book. I kept seeing this title everywhere and, knowing who Circe is and her role in the Odyssey (and her appearance in the Percy Jackson books), I was too curious.

I was so pleasantly surprised. The story is told by Circe herself in the past tense—as if she is remembering her life. Her tale is so personal and human that I completely related to her. As the story progresses, she tells about how she had a hand in many of the other greek stories in a way that just makes sense.

But even if you aren't familiar with greek mythology, it's still one interesting story told with beautiful words.

To me, this book was a page turner. I was in synch with it. The words just flowed and they comforted me. It was a wonderful experience. The best book I have read this year. It will be hard to top it.

Cheers!
