Book Review: Mexican Gothic

Image
This was a strange book. It was creepy and mysterious. To be honest, I went into it not really knowing if it had any paranormal elements. From the description, I couldn't really tell, either. The story is about a Mexican woman who is sent by her father to investigate what happened to her cousin after receiving a strange letter. She goes to this creepy house on a hill, and everyone in there is creepy. They tell the woman, Noemí, that in the house, you should only speak English. Your job is basically to free the gods, beat Typhon, and restore the humans that have been turned to stone. In order to do that, you need upgrades. Fenyx has a sword, ax, bow and arrow, helmet, and armor. All of which you can find and upgrade in different ways and can make combos with (or upgrade to make combos). Additionally, she gets a set of wings that serve as the "glider" from Breath...
