Book Review: In Five Years
Honestly, I saw this was a book a friend of mine read in a book club and I became interested. I read the Amazon description and it was so endearing. A woman who is in a relationship sees a glimpse of her life five years later and her husband isn't her current boyfriend. Uh! It got me. I wanted to read it!
My friend was kind enough to loan me her copy the week before I went to the beach and it felt like the right kind of book for the occasion.
BOY WAS I WRONG!
It was so horribly depressing! I couldn't see how things could work out nor how that glimpse of the future happened. And when it DID happen, it didn't even make sense. It was horrible!
I am so sorry to say I do not recommend this book. At least, it isn't my kind of book. I was torn between continuing in hopes it got better (it didn't) or just abandoning the book.
Really, this is some misleading marketing. After I finished the book and told my friend what I thought about it, she said her daughter had warned her about lending me the book. Yes. They didn't like it either. My purist friend wanted me to experience it and have an opinion on my own, but I told her that next time, she could spare me the suffering.
Cheers!
