Book Review: Stars and Smoke
Stars and Smoke is a book by the author of a series of books I love called Legend. Before I read this stand-alone book, I read the Warcross duology by Marie Lu and I wasn't disappointed. Perhaps it wasn't as wonderful as the Legend Trilogy was, but it met my expectations.
Unfortunately, Stars and Smoke wasn't even close to either others other books. Honestly, I don't know what happened. The story was very slow and nothing ever really happened. I mean, it did, but it was like an afterthought, and even when the book was over 300 pages, the two main characters that are supposed to be in love never showed any real chemistry or a sign to convince me that they were in love, at least. Everything felt a bit forced.
The story still had a point, which came very late in th ebook, with a very abrupt ending. Just like that.
I recommend the Legend Series or even the Warcross books over this title. Perhaps her next book will be amazing. I surely hope so.
Cheers!
