Book Review: The Sunlit Man

The Sunlit Man is the fourth and final novel from the Brandon Sanderson's Kickstarter.

I accidentally skipped Yumi and the Nightmare Painter when I went on a trip and needed to take a book on my Kindle.

The Sunlit Man started a bit odd. With a character who doesn't know where he is or what is happening around him. All we knew was that he was running from something.

The events began to unfold, but I confess it was hard for me to follow or connect to the story for a while because I felt lost and didn't know what in the world was happening or why.

But then the author began to tell me about the world, and that piqued my interest. It was a small world that had a very hot and short day, so the citizens of the planet needed to be constantly moving with the night to not get incinerated.

The race of people who lived in the planet also had energy transferring abilities, which helped move the plot. The villain, a tyrant who has a lot of energy at his disposal, was cruel, unlikable and very powerful, and most of the book everyone tries to escape from him (until they don't)!

The ending was the best part of this book. Well planned and with great feelings all around. I really liked it. If not for my confusion in the first third of the book, I really would have enjoyed this book thouroughly.

But overall, I do recommend this book.

Cheers!
